Support

Response time: usually within 2 business days

Need a hand? NexCam is built and supported by a small team. Email support@nexcam.app and a real person will get back to you — usually within two business days, often sooner.

Fastest way to get help

The quickest path is the built-in “Report a Problem” button in Settings inside the app. It opens a pre-filled email to support@nexcam.app with your device model, iOS version, app version, and any on-device diagnostic reports attached. None of that information is transmitted until you tap send.

If you can’t open the app, just email support@nexcam.app directly and include your iPhone model and iOS version.

Common questions

Pricing & purchases

How much does NexCam cost? $9.99 once. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no upsells. Every feature is unlocked at purchase.

Can I get a refund? Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find your NexCam purchase, and request a refund. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.

Will I be charged again? No. NexCam is a one-time purchase. There is no recurring billing of any kind.

Recording & take recovery

The app crashed mid-recording — did I lose my take? Almost certainly not. NexCam writes video in short chunks and automatically stitches them on app launch. When you reopen the app, a recovery sheet should appear offering to restore the interrupted take. If it doesn’t, email us and we’ll walk you through retrieving the chunks.

Pause and resume looks like it left a visible jump. That shouldn’t happen — chunk boundaries are designed to be seamless. Please send us a sample export through “Report a Problem” and we’ll investigate.

Recording stopped on its own. Most often this is iOS reclaiming the microphone (a phone call, another app starting audio capture, or low power mode). Check Settings → Battery and disable Low Power Mode if it’s on, then try again.

Voice Track (auto-scroll while you read)

Voice tracking isn’t locking on. Voice Track uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. It needs Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions enabled in Settings → NexCam, a relatively quiet environment, and your script language to match the device language. If it still won’t lock, switch to manual scroll mode in the speed dial.

Does my voice get sent to a server? No. NexCam forces on-device speech recognition. Your audio is transcribed locally and never leaves the phone.

iCloud sync

My scripts aren’t showing up on my other iPhone or iPad. Make sure both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account (iOS Settings → your name) and that iCloud Drive is enabled. Sync runs in the background and can take a minute or two after a script changes. Recorded videos do not sync between devices in v1 — that’s coming in a later update.

What gets synced? Your scripts, folders, and saved speed & caption presets. Video takes stay local to each device.

Apple Watch remote

The watch app can’t connect. Make sure both devices have Bluetooth on, are in range, and that the NexCam watch app has been installed via the Watch app on your iPhone. If the iPhone app isn’t in the recording screen, the watch remote will show a waiting state — open the recording screen on the phone first.

Captions & export

My burned-in captions look different from what I picked in the editor. Captions are rasterized to image strips when exported, which preserves the exact font you chose. If you see a mismatch, please send us the export and the script through “Report a Problem.”

Export is failing or slow. Long takes with captions can take a few minutes to render, especially on older devices. Keep the app foregrounded and don’t let the screen lock. If export consistently fails, try without captions first to isolate the issue, then email us.

Permissions

NexCam asks for permission in context, only when you first try the related feature.

  • Camera — to show the live preview and record video.
  • Microphone — to record audio and to power Voice Track.
  • Speech Recognition — for on-device Voice Track and caption generation.
  • Photos (add-only) — only when you choose to save an exported video to your photo library.

You can change any of these later under iOS Settings → NexCam.

System requirements

  • iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later.
  • iPhone 15 Pro or later, on iOS 18+, for on-device AI script rewriting (Apple Intelligence). Older devices simply hide that feature.
  • Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later, paired with the same iPhone, for the watch remote.
  • iCloud account signed in on the device for script sync (optional).

Privacy & data

NexCam collects no analytics and ships with no third-party SDKs. Your scripts, recordings, and captions stay on your device. For the full details see the Privacy Policy.

Still stuck?

Email support@nexcam.app with:

  • Your iPhone model (e.g. iPhone 16 Pro) and iOS version.
  • A short description of what you were trying to do and what happened.
  • Screenshots or a short screen recording if you can — they help us reproduce the issue.

We read every email.
